East Haven Volleyball Posts Perfect Week; Football Loses to Law

Volleyball

The East Haven volleyball team won all three of its matches by 3-0 scores last week to improve to 14-4 with two regular season contests remaining.

On Oct. 16, East Haven topped Lyman Hall by the final score of 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-20). Summer Onorato led the way with six aces and four digs, while Kylie Schlottman had four aces and four kills for the Yellowjackets. Jessica Stettinger finished with three kills and a block.

On Oct. 18, the Yellowjackets swept non-conference opponent Woodland 3-0 behind set scores of 25-18, 25-19, and 25-13. Onorato finished with eight kills and eight digs, Diana Kalman had eight kills, and Isabella Ragaini contributed 30 assists in the victory.

Two days later, East Haven defeated Wilbur Cross 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-17). Stettinger had four kills, Julia SanGiovanni and Schlottman both landed five aces, and Onorato finished with four kills.

Football

The Yellowjackets took a 44-0 home loss to Law in a SCC Tier 3 matchup on Oct. 20. East Haven dropped to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in Tier 3 play.

This week, the Yellowjackets will visit SCC Tier 2 opponent Wilbur Cross (4-2) on Thursday, Oct. 26 with the kickoff slated for 7 p.m.

Girls’ Soccer

The Yellowjackets lost two recent contests and are now 1-12-2 with one game to go this year.

On Oct. 16, Lauralton Hall defeated East Haven 7-3 in a high-scoring contest. Haley Montesanto scored the Easties’ first goal on an assist from Jenna Pane, after which Pane scored off a corner kick from Bella Pilato. Pane netted the team’s third goal of the game on a penalty kick.

On Oct. 18, Lyman Hall defeated East Haven by a 3-2 score. Pane assisted Pilato for the Yellowjackets’ first goal. Montesanto later connected for a goal on a free kick.

Boys’ Soccer

East Haven took three defeats last week to move to 1-14 for the season.

On Oct. 16, Wilbur Cross edged out East Haven by a 1-0 score. Two days later, Cheshire earned a 7-0 win over East Haven. On Oct. 20, the Yellowjackets took a 4-0 defeat to Notre Dame-West Haven.
