Trap Runner Defeats G & G Earth Materials, 67-63

Trap Runner earned a 67-63 victory over G & G Earth Materials during Week 5 play in the Branford Recreation Department Men’s Basketball League. Trap Runner improved to 3-2 and remained two games behind first-place V.F. McNeil, which defeated Warner Construction 89-66.

Dylan Palluzzi scored 20 points for Trap Runner in its win against G & G, including the final points in the Joe Trapasso Gymnasium, as the building in which the gym is located is undergoing a renovation project that begins this week. Joel Daniels also had a big game by scoring 18 points for Trap Runner in the win. For G & G Earth Materials (1-4), Dustin Ceccolini hit seven three-pointers on his way to scoring 37 points. Andrew Johnson added 11 points.

Meanwhile, V.F. McNeil moved to 5-0 and maintained its two-game lead for first place with an 89-66 win over Warner Construction. First-year players Tom Rapini and Blake Gatison scored 22 and 20 points, respectively, for V.F. McNeil. Dan McGowan scored 15 points, while Rob Howard chipped in with 10 points. Warner Construction (1-4) was led by Ryan Adinolfi (17 points), Adam Pahlsson (15), Brett Warner (11), and Brad Roth (11).
