H-K Boys’ Soccer Scores a Dozen Goals in Two Games; Field Hockey Makes States

Boys’ Soccer

The Haddam-Killingworth boys’ soccer team played a pair of games last week and improved to 9-2-1 after posting victories over Old Lyme and North Branford.

The Cougars started off their week by scoring an 8-1 win over Old Lyme Oct. 10. Three days later, H-K faced off against another Shoreline Conference foe with a contest against North Branford and blanked the Thunderbirds by a 4-0 final.

Girls’ Soccer

H-K dropped contests against Old Lyme and North Branford last week and is now 1-9-1 on the season.

The Cougars began the week by taking an 8-0 loss to Old Lyme on Oct. 11. The following day, H-K lost a 4-0 contest versus North Branford.

Field Hockey

H-K faced off against Morgan and Canton last week, earning a pair of ties to move to 4-3-3-2 overall on the season.

The Cougars played to a 1-1 draw with Morgan on Oct. 12. Two days later, they battled Canton to a scoreless tie to solidify a berth in the Class S State Tournament.

Volleyball

The Cougars claimed victories against Cromwell, Coginchaug, and Old Lyme in last week’s matchups. Haddam-Killingworth now stands with a record of 12-3 for the year.

H-K downed Cromwell 3-1 on Oct. 10 and then defeated Coginchaug by that same score the next night. Then on Oct. 13, the Cougars beat Old Lyme 3-0 to finish off their unbeaten week.
