Westbrook Field Hockey Posts a Pair of Shutouts; Soccer Squads Lose a Few

Field Hockey

The Westbrook field hockey squad played two matches last week and didn’t allow a single goal, winning both games while raising its record to 3-1-3 for the season.

On Sept. 27, the Knights played a home game against Shoreline Conference rival Haddam-Killingworth and edged the Cougars by a 1-0 margin. On Sept. 30, Westbrook headed to Somers for a road matchup against the Spartans and won the game behind a 4-0 shutout.

Boys’ Soccer

Westbrook had two matchups last week and took a pair of defeats. The Knights’ record now stands at 3-5 on the year.

On Sept. 25, Westbrook headed to Deep River to face Valley Regional for a Shoreline Conference contest and lost 8-0. Two days later, the Knights were back at home to play another Shoreline opponent in Cromwell and dropped a 5-0 contest.

Girls’ Soccer

Westbrook lost two Shoreline Conference contests last week to move to 2-5-1 on the season.

On Sept. 26, the Knights were on the road for a game at Valley Regional and lost 5-0. Then on Sept. 28, Westbrook went up against Cromwell at home and took a 3-0 defeat against the Panthers.
