The East Haven football team hosted SCC Tier 3 opponent Lyman Hall for its home opener on Sept. 22 and took a 19-10 defeat against the Trojans. The Yellowjackets held on to their three-point edge until the last minute of the third quarter, when the Trojans’ Austin Ruiz intercepted a pass and took it back for a touchdown to give Lyman Hall a 13-10 lead entering the fourth. With just more than eight minutes left in the game, Lyman Hall added insurance on Santello’s second rushing TD of the game that made it 19-10.
