Deep River Horseshoe League Finalizes Playoff Bracket

In Week 19 of the Deep River Horseshoe League, Chris Christensen of the A Division led all players by throwing 124. Christensen was followed closely by Vinny Jonynas with 122, as well as Butch Carotenuto, who scored a 121.

Kris Toohey stood atop the B Division with his total of 120. Joe Heery held down second place with a 112, while Ed Turner was in third at 107.

In the C Division, Gary Stevens led the way with a score of 88. Anthony Conkling took second with a 78, and Ken Fox was next in line with his 76.

At the end of Week 19, the Braves are in first place in the standings with a record of 68.5-45.5. The Cubs (67-47) are in second, the Dodgers (63-51) are in third, the Giants (62.5-51.5) are in fourth, and the Mets stand in fifth place with a record of 62-52. Here is a look at the rest of the standings: Marlins (61.5-52.5), Pirates (60.5-53.5), Tigers (60-54), Yankees (59.5-54.5), Red Sox (58-56), Padres (57-57), Rangers (56.5-57.5), Royals (56-58), Cardinals (52.5-61.5), White Sox (52-62), Orioles (51.5-62.5), Reds (49-65), Astros (48.5-65.5), Indians (47.5-66.5), and Angels (47-67).

With the regular season completed, the Deep River Horseshoe League’s single-elimination tournament bracket has been finalized. The No. 1 seed Braves will face off against the 8th-seeded Tigers. The 2nd-seeded Cubs are matching up against the No. 7 seed Pirates. The Dodgers are the No. 3 seed and will go up against the 6th-seeded Marlins. Thee Giants are the No. 4 seed and will play the 5th-seeded Mets.

The Deep River Horseshoe League has 20 teams that feature three players of each of the A, B, and C divisions. The league plays every Thursday night on the First Congregational Green in Deep River and welcomes anyone to come watch its contests. For info, visit deepriverhorseshoes.com.
