The coaches from Old Saybrook-Westbrook (OS-W) high school football team and the OS-W Youth Football and Cheer organization recently partnered with the Old Saybrook Parks and Rec Department to host a four-day football program for children who are in 2nd through 8th grade. Youngsters from several towns on the shoreline participated in warm-up exercises and performed drills to hone their skills and learn the fundamentals of football at the camp.

Coach Ryan Percival founded the program to help kids in the area learn the fundamentals football in a safe, non-contact environment. Approximately 40 people participated in this year’s camp.

“It’s all about the kids. We teach skills, but we also emphasize safety, listening, teamwork and respect,” said Rams’ assistant coach Rob Marone.
