Post 76 Juniors Shut Out New Haven; Senior Legion Loses Two to Branford

Junior Legion Baseball

The North Haven Junior Legion baseball squad was on the diamond for a Zone 2 matchup against New Haven last week. North Haven blanked New Haven 6-0 at West Rock Field on June 27 to improve to 3-5 in Zone 2 play this season.

Leo Konopka pitched five scoreless innings for Post 76. Owen Silk and Nick Rossi tossed one scoreless inning apiece to close out the victory.

Senior Legion Baseball

The Post 76 Senior Legion baseball team hosted Zone 2 opponent Branford for two recent contests. Post 76 lost the first game on the road by a 1-0 final and then lost 3-2 in the second game the following day at home. North Haven is now 4-5 in its Zone 2 contests this summer.

One June 27, North Haven squared off against zone foe Branford for a road tilt. Post 83 scored the game’s lone run in the fifth inning and hung on for a 1-0 victory. Griffin Bottomley pitched six solid innings for North Haven in the loss.

The next day, Post 76 welcomed Branford to DeMayo Ballfield for a home game. North Haven dropped a 3-2 decision against Post 83. North Haven trailed 3-0 before plating a pair of runs the cut it to 3-2 in the sixth inning, but Branford held on for the win. Mark Tantorski pitched four innings, Tom Myjak threw two innings, and Chris Ciarlegio pitched one inning for Post 76.
