Deep River Horseshoe League Rings in Another Week with Some Solid Scores

David Modine scored a 116 to lead the way for the players in the A Division during Week 11 of the Deep River Horseshoe League on June 26. Modine was followed by Bill Strong and John Hutra, who both scored a 111 to tie for second place among the A players.

In the B Division, Bill Brown totaled the evening’s top score of 116. For C Division play, Anthony Conkling and Gary Brainard were tied for first place with their scores of 79, while Gary Beckwith was right behind with a 78.

On the season, Dave Rioux, Sr., has the best high game for the A Division with a 49. Strong has the next-best score at 46. Jim Scully owns the top high series for the A tier with his 158, and Rioux, Sr., is second with a 154.

The best high game in the B Division belongs to Mark Goodale (43), with Dan Henry (39) next in line. Goodale also has the top high series with a total of 127.

For the C Division, Cody Layton’s score of 39 represents the best high game of the year thus far. Beckwith is second with a 30. Layton has the best high series (131), while Conkling is in second (103).

As far as the team standings go, the Braves are perched in first place with their record of 42-24. The Dodgers sit in second at 40-26, while the Mets, Padres, and Pirates are in a three-way tie for third place at 37-29. Here’s how the rest of the standings shape up: Cubs (35.5-30.5), Giants (35-31), Marlins (35-31), Red Sox (34.5-31.5), Cardinals (33-33), White Sox (32.5-33.5), Rangers (31.5-34.5), Yankees (31.5-34.5), Reds (29.5-36.5), Astros (29.5-36.5), Indians (29-37), Angels (28.5-37.5), Orioles (28.5-37.5), Royals (27.5-38.5), and Tigers (26-40).
