Rams’ Track Represents at CIAC Decathlon, Heptathlon, and Steeplechase

Boys’ Outdoor Track

Austin Reynolds represented the Rams boys’ outdoor track team at the CIAC Decathlon at Willow Brook Park in New Britain on June 13 and 14. Reynolds recorded a overall finish of 16th place by recording 4,718 points at the event. Reynolds’s total included three top-10 finishes as he took fourth place in the long jump (19 feet-8.25 inches), sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (16.50 seconds), and 10th in the 1,500-meter run (4:50.93). Reynolds’s performance at the decathlon also saw him finish 13th in the high jump (5-5.75), 15th in the 400 (53.70), 19th in the discus (79-0), 20th in the javelin (109-3), 23rd in the 100-meter dash (12.08), and 65th in the shot put (24-8.5).

On June 14, Shane Henderson competed on behalf of the Rams in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Willow Brook Park. Henderson finished in fifth place with a time of 10:11.12

Girls’ Outdoor Track

Old Saybrook’s Annea Thaci competed at the CIAC Heptathlon at Willow Brook Park last week. Thaci came in 32nd place with an overall score of 2,701 points.

Thaci’s top showing came in the 100-meter hurdles as she earned 10th place by clocking in at 16.45 seconds. Additionally, Thaci placed 13th in the javelin (72 feet-6 inches), 18th in the long jump (14-7), 30th in the 200 (29.36), 30th in the high jump (4-4.25), and 38th in the shot put (22-10.5).

Additionally, Ingrid Boland represented Old Saybrook in the 2,000-meter steeplechase and recorded a time of 8:48.35, which was good for 31st place.
