Post 79 Seniors Grab Four Wins in First Two Weeks of the Season

The Madison Senior Legion American baseball team is 4-5 overall following its first two weeks of the summer season.

Madison took a 5-4 loss to Cheshire at home on June 13 and then rebounded on June 15 with a 4-3 win over East Haddam. Emmett Tolis pitched 6.2 innings, and Will McIntosh got the last out on the hill for Post 79.

Madison then lost a 14-6 contest to Cheshire on June 16 and took a 5-3 defeat to East Haddam on June 17. Graeme McGivern (4 innings) and Michael Elias (3 innings) shared the mound duties for Madison in the East Haddam contest.

In the previous week’s action, Madison defeated Guilford 9-1 on June 7, swept a doubleheader from Prospect-Beacon Falls by notching 11-0 and 16-0 victories on June 10, and then took 15-5 and 13-4 losses in a doubleheader against Meriden the next day. Magnus Grigor pitched a complete game for Post 79 in the win versus Guilford.
