The Cougars took their first loss of the year by an 8-2 final against Hale-Ray on April 11. Faith Mauri had two hits for H-K and scored both of its runs.

Two days after that, the Cougars defeated Old Saybrook 22-5 in a game shortened to five innings due to the mercy rule. Ana Hale (2-for-3, 2 RBI) drew a walk to lead off the second inning and scored on a passed ball with two outs. Rachel Senechal and Olivia Whitehead were driven in by a sharp single off the bat of Amanda Minervino to close out the inning. The big swing of the day belonged to H-K’s Shannon Nelson, whose impressive three-run blast left the park in a hurry. Earlier in the third inning, Ali Halligan (2-for-2, 5 RBI) smashed a bases-clearing double to right-center, and Ari Masotti (2-for-4, 4 RBI) crushed an RBI double to left field. Hannah Little scored twice and added an RBI double in the Cougars’ half of the fifth inning.
