The Old Saybrook Parks and Recreation Department (OSPR) held its annual Co-ed 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament during the OSPR’s Friday night Teen Center hours on March 24. There were 11 teams that participated in the tournament, which featured Old Saybrook residents who are in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. The event was free for all Teen Center members and consisted of a random-seeded, double-elimination style tournament in which every team was guaranteed to play at least two games. The rosters and team names were picked by the participants.

Winning the tournament with an undefeated record was team Chino Hills, which was comprised of Gannon Efinger, Priscilla Gumkowski, and Aidan Collier. Chino Hills was matched up against team White Magic--which featured Kyle Colella, Jake Butler, and Jenna Tully--in the championship game. Chino Hills had given White Magic its first loss earlier in the tournament, but White Magic fought back to earn a rematch with Chino Hills in the final. Ultimately, Chino Hills was crowned the champion of the tournament.

The OSPR thanks all the players who participated in the tournament. For info on OSPR events, visit www.oldsaybrookrec.com.
