Guilford Little League Opening Ceremonies on Saturday, April 22

The Guilford Little League (GLL) season is kicking off on Saturday, April 22. Starting at 8 a.m., there will be a parade that begins at the town green and will conclude at Adams Middle School. Then at 8:30 a.m. the opening ceremonies will take place at Adams Field A.

The GLL will be celebrating a bit of its history this year as it will recognize players from its inaugural season of 67 years ago, including Donald Papa, who has the distinguished honor of pitching the first no-hitter in GLL history and was a member of the 1956 Babe Ruth state championship team. Throwing out the first pitches of the season in Papa’s memory will be members of the Papa family, many of whom are also former GLL players. The games will begin shortly thereafter. All members of the community are welcome to attend this event.
