Haddam-Killingworth Co-op Hockey Squad Loses in State Semis; Swimming Places 9th in Class S

Ice Hockey

The Lyman Hall/Haddam-Killingworth/Coginchaug ice hockey team saw its season come to a close with a 6-0 loss to top-seeded Woodstock Academy in the semifinals of the Division III State Tournament at Ingalls Rink on March 16. The Trojans, who were the No. 5 seed, finished the season with an overall record of 13-12, having also reached the championship game of the SCC/SWC Division III Tournament.

Boys’ Swimming and Diving

The Cougars’ boys’ swimming and diving squad finished in ninth place with 272 points at the Class S State Championship on March 16 at Wesleyan University.

Haddam-Killingworth’s 200 medley relay of Jake Torello, Will Carlson, Max Revis, and Noah Miller took seventh place at the Class S meet. (1:52.99). Elijah Houlton finished 10th in the 200 freestyle (1:52.94), Torello was 17th for the 200 individual medley (2:15.81), and Michael Morman came in 21st for the 50 free (24.55). Also, Elijah Houlton claimed 10th place with the 100 freestyle (51.24). H-K’s 200 freestyle relay group of Morman, Revis, Elijah Houlton, and Zach Houlton finished in seventh (1:34.67). Torello was eighth in the 100 backstroke (1:09.56), plus Will Carlson finished tied for 17th in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.36). The Cougars’ 400 freestyle relay of Morman, Torello, and the Houlton brothers finished in fifth with a time of 3:29.78.
