Gibson Competes for Mercy Gymnastics at Class M Championship

Essex resident Ella Gibson competed for the Mercy gymnastics team at last week’s Class M State Championship at Pomperaug High School on Feb. 25. Gibson, a junior, helped the Tigers take fifth place by recording team-high scores for both the bars (score of 8.65) and the beam (8.25) at the state meet. Gibson had recently won the beam at the SCC Championship. She will be competing on bars, beam, and vault at the State Open Championship, which takes place at New Milford High School at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 4.
