Flip-Flop Gymnastics Competes at Rhode Island Invitational

The Flip-Flop Gymnastics Xcel teams, as well as its Level 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 teams, recently competed at the Rhode Island Invitational hosted by Aim High Gymnastics.

Alexandra Batts of Lyme was the lone Xcel Diamond competitor from Flip-Flop. She did well overall with a personal high of 9.325 on floor for first place and finished fifth with a 33.75 all-around.

The Xcel Platinum team won third place in the team competition and was led by Emma Anderson of Higganum. Anderson had a personal high of 9.25 for first place on floor and an all-around finish of 35.15 all-around for third place. Brooklyn Geida of Niantic had a personal high of 8.95 for fifth place on floor and finished with a 34.55 all-around. Emily Brucker of Deep River scored a high of 9.125 for first place on vault and finished fourth all-around with a 34.375. Sarah Cartelli of Ivoryton earned third place for her high score of 9.05 on vault, as well as her all-around score of 34.375. Katie Schumann of Old Saybrook scored an 8.825 for fourth place on vault and totaled a 30.975 all-around. Emma Pfau of Guilford had a personal high of 8.55 on vault and finished with a 30.8 all-around.

The Xcel Gold team worked together to earn third place in the team competition. Grace Jacaruso of Essex led with a fourth place tie on vault with a score of 9.0 and finished seventh all-around with a 34.6. Brianna Minervino of Higganum tied for sixth place on floor with her high score of 8.925 and also came in seventh all-around with a 34.325. Katie Zimmer of East Hampton had an event high of 8.775 on floor for fifth place and finished sixth all-around with a 34.075. Paige Thomas of Ivoryton came in third place for her personal best of 8.9 on balance beam and totaled an all-around of 33.85 for seventh place. Kelsey Lucaro of Deep River tied for first place with her high score of 9.0 and finished with a 33.55 all-around. Emerson McAraw of Old Lyme tied for fourth place on vault with an 8.5 and totaled a 32.95 all-around.

Ella Gibson of Essex was a team-of-one in the Level 8 competition. She came in first place for her high score of 9.025 on floor, as well as second on vault, fourth on bars, second on balance beam, and first all-around with a 35.2.

The Xcel Silver team had a great meet and finished second in the team competition. Lauren Matarazzo of Deep River led the team with an event high of 9.3 for first place on balance beam and finished in third place all-around with a 36.05. Madeline Jacaruso of Essex earned a high score of 9.425 on bars for second place and totaled a 35.90 for fourth all-around. Lucy Fader of Old Lyme came in second place for a high score of 9.325 on bars and finished fourth all-around with a 35.7. Hailey Young of Ivoryton came in first for a high of 9.675 on bars and totaled a 35.675 all-around for fifth place. Isabella Giuliano of Deep River came in fourth on bars for a high score of 9.3 and finished with an all-around score of 34.875. Katrina Tozier of East Haddam had a best of 9.025 on bars for fourth place and finished sixth all-around with a 34.825. Kelly Walsh of Old Saybrook had a personal best of 8.8 on balance beam and finished with a 34.8 all-around. Madison Neviaser of Essex came in fifth place for her high of 9.1 on uneven bars and seventh all-around with a 34.65. Reagan Furgueson of Centerbrook had an event high of 9.25 for second place on beam and totaled a 34.625 for eighth place all-around. Kaia Karcich of Deep River had a personal high of 8.8 on bars and finished with a 34.525 all-around. Mackenzie Neviaser of Essex came in eighth place for her high score of 9.0 on bars and finished with an all-around score of 34.45. Jamie Pullin of Chester came in fifth place for her personal best 8.9 on floor and totaled an all-around score of 34.375. Grace Arnold of Old Lyme had an event high of 8.65 on floor, earned fifth on vault, and finished with a 34.225 all-around. Mia Alio of Deep River earned sixth place for her high score of 8.9 on bars and totaled a 33.15 all-around.

Mia Lawrence of East Haddam and Maria Denya of Old Lyme represented Team Flip-Flop for the Level 7 competition. Lawrence earned first place for her high of 9.275 on vault, as well as third on beam, fourth on floor, and fourth all-around with a 34.925. Denya also scored highest on vault with an 8.925 and totaled a 32.45 all-around.

The Level 6 team was led by Juliana Gagliardi of Killingworth, whose high score of 9.1 earned her a tie for third place on floor, as well as fifth all-around with a 35.25. Sarah Cole of Chester came in first on bars with a 9.1 and second all-around with a 34.575. Rebecca Rosenblum-Jones of Killingworth came in third place for her event high of 8.9 on balance beam and finished seventh all-around with a 34.15. Erin Ward of Chester earned a high of 8.7 for third place on bars and finished with a fifth place all-around score of 33.9. Leah Frantz of Deep River came in first place for her high score of 8.95 on balance beam and finished seventh all-around with a 33.825. Allyson Viens of Higganum earned an event high of 8.45 on beam and totaled a 32.475 all-around. Ella Stevens of Centerbrook had an event high of 8.25 on floor and finished with an all-around score of 31.15.

Chase Conrad of Ivoryton led the Level 4 team with an event high of 9.0 on balance beam and 31.35 all-around score. Julie Hartt of Deep River had a high of 8.575 on floor exercise and totaled a 31.225 all-around. Brooklyn Libera of East Haddam also earned her high score on floor with an 8.4 and finished with a 31.2. Violet Lavezzoli of Deep River performed best at bars with an 8.125 and a total score of 30.325.

Corallina Giuliano of Deep River led the Level 3 team with an event high of 9.275 on vault for fifth place and finished with a 33.8 all-around. Sadie Laurie of Old Saybrook earned seventh place for her high score of 9.225 on vault and totaled a 33.475 all-around. Talia Bauer, also of Old Saybrook, followed with another vault high score 9.25 and finished with a 32.375. Meghan Brown of Higganum scored an event high of 8.975 on vault, earned second place on balance beam, and finished with a 32.575 all-around. Emma Tenabe of East Haddam also scored highest on vault with an 8.95 and had an all-around total of 32.1. Hailey Fosque of Westbrook came in first place for her event high of 9.35 on vault and finished with a 31.83 for seventh all-around.
