The Westbrook boys’ basketball squad won all three of its games last week to improve to 13-1 this season. Fellow senior captain Liam Bell had reached the 1,000-point mark two weeks earlier for Westbrook.

On Jan. 30, Westbrook topped Haddam-Killingworth 85-61. It was tight through three with Westbrook holding a 54-48 edge, but the Knights exploded for 31 points in the fourth to blow the game open. Dave Amendola came two assists shy of a triple-double as he recorded 10 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. Bell scored 25 points and also contributed nine boards and five assists. Muckle scored 24 points for Westbrook in the win.

The Knights finished off the week with an 89-67 victory over Creed on Feb. 3. Westbrook shot 54 percent from the floor and assisted on 26 of its 32 baskets. “We had many different opportunities to score tonight inside and out and the girls took advantage of the hot hands,” Head Coach Kelly Landino said. “We shot very well tonight and I was very pleased with the balanced scoring. It is the right time for our team to be finding balance as we move into late season and tournament time.”
