HK Boys’ Hoops Takes Three; Girls Edge Out Creed

Boys’ Basketball

The Cougars’ boys’ basketball squad stands with a record of 5-2 on the season following a few recent victories. HK defeated Portland 68-59 on Jan. 3 and then earned a 65-39 victory versus Morgan the following night. HK finished the week with a 70-59 decision over Creed on Jan. 6.

The week prior, Haddam-Killingworth lost to The Sport & Medical Sciences Academy 69-64 on Dec. 29.

Girls’ Basketball

Haddam-Killingworth dropped a 63-13 contest to Cromwell on Dec. 30 and then lost by a 57-36 final against Portland on Jan. 3. However, the Cougars bounced back to defeat Creed 33-31 on Jan. 6 and improve to 2-5 thus far in the winter season.

Ice Hockey

Lyman Hall/HK/Coginchaug took a 3-2 defeat to Wethersfield-Middletown-Rocky Hill-Plainville on Jan. 4 to go to 1-3 for the year.

In the previous week’s action, the Trojans took a 3-0 loss to North Haven on Dec. 30.

Gymnastics

The HK/Hale-Ray/Morgan co-op gymnastics squad competed against Valley Regional at Flip-Flop Gymnastics in Deep River on Jan. 5. The team scored 92.5 points and took a defeat to Valley, which scored a 113.
