12/22/2016 11:00 PMLou Ciaramella handed off the head coaching duties of the East Haven Senior American Legion baseball team to John Longley after Longley’s successful season with the Prep Legion squad in 2015.
The young 89ers wound up having a successful summer by finishing with a record of 14-13 to qualify for the State Tournament. East Haven’s campaign featured a three-game sweep of North Haven. The 89ers later took two out of three from Milford at the end of the year to clinch their berth in states, officially doing so with a 10-0 victory in the regular season finale. The 89ers took a 2-1 loss to Greenwich in the first round of the State Tournament and finished at 14-14 overall.
