Westbrook Boys’ Basketball Beats Cromwell; Girls Drop Opener to Old Saybrook

Boys’ Basketball

The Westbrook boys’ basketball squad started its season with a 52-41 victory over Cromwell on Dec. 17. The Knights overcame 11 three-pointers by Cromwell, which converted on 46 percent of its shots from the floor. Cory Muckle scored a game-high 21 points in the win, while Liam Bell finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Knights.

Girls’ Basketball

The Knights’ girls’ basketball squad lost its opening game of the year on Dec. 13 to Old Saybrook, 46-30. Savannah Marshall scored 10 points and Kelly Donlan added nine for Westbrook in the loss.
