Hand Girls’ Swimming and Diving Competes at State Open

The Tigers’ girls’ swimming and diving team finished in 15th place with 136 points at the State Open Championship that took place on Nov. 18 and 19.

The 200 medley relay of Kayla Mendonca, Caroline Genther, Case Porter, and Allie Mascia placed 12th (1:53.57) for Hand. Mascia was eighth in the 50 freestyle (24.46) and took 12th for the 100 free (53.49); Mendonca finished 11th in the 500 free (5:10.94) and Genther followed in 23rd (5:17.87); Mendonca also swam to 11th in the 100 backstroke (59.19); and the 400 free relay of Ruby Redlich, Kelly Doktorski, Mendonca, and Mascia finished in 16th (3:42.05).

At the diving portion of the meet, Noelle Bergere scored a 406.55 to finish 13th for the Tigers.
