The East Haven football team dropped its third-consecutive game by taking a 20-17 defeat at SCC Tier 3 opponent Creed-Career-Whitney (C-C-W) at Bowen Field in New Haven on Nov. 3. The loss moved East Haven to 2-5 for the season.

Two of C-C-W’s touchdowns came on a 50-yard interception return by Neal Eley and a 97-yard run by Jhavion Haddock, who totaled 272 yards on nine carries for the game. Haddock started the scoring early in the first quarter with a 13-yard touchdown run and then converted the 2-point attempt for an 8-0 lead. McClay Marshall ran home a 12-yard score to make it an 8-7 game at the end of one. In the second quarter, Eley’s defense touchdown put C-C-W ahead 14-7 at the half.

East Haven owned the early portion of the third quarter as Nate Lastomirsky found the end zone on a 15-yard run, after which kicker Evan Damian put East Haven ahead 17-14 with a field goal. After that, however, Haddock made the play of the night as his 97-yard touchdown run proved to be the game-winner for C-C-W (3-5, 3-2).
