Westbrook’s Soccer Teams Open Shoreline Conference Play

Boys’ Soccer

Westbrook boys’ soccer is unbeaten through its first three games this season with a record of 1-0-2. After thrashing Amistad in the opening week of the season to the tune of 7-0 victory, the Knights fought to 1-1 ties in both games last week.

On Sept. 12, Westbrook and East Hampton played to a 1-1 stalemate as Knights’ goalie Jake Marciniec made a pair of saves. Senior midfielder Jason Raunikar scored the goal for Westbrook in the first half.

On Sept. 15, Westbrook went on the road to play Old Lyme and finished with another 1-all tie.

Girls’ Soccer

The Knights lost a pair of Shoreline Conference games last week and currently sit at 1-2 under new Head Coach Rob McConville.

On Sept. 12, Westbrook was outshot 15-2 took a 1-0 loss to East Hampton.

The Knights were then defeated 5-1 by Old Lyme on Sept. 15. In the loss, goalie Lexi Vumback made five saves, while Gabby Ehlert scored the team’s goal.
