The Shoreline Sharks ice hockey program is currently accepting registrations for its two skill-building programs that will take place this fall. The Sharks are hosting a hockey development program for girls aged 11 to 19, as well as a learn to play hockey program for boys and girls aged 3 to 11.

The hockey development program for is designed for girls aged 11 to 19 who are looking to learn how to play hockey or further develop their game. Skill building in a fun and challenging environment is the focus with an emphasis on skating development, puck control, passing, and shooting. The sessions are held at DiLungo Rink in East Haven twice per week from mid-September through the end of November and then on Sundays from October through the end of February. The tuition for the 24-week program is $700 and full equipment is required.

Registration is also open for the SandSharks program, which is a weekly learn to play/stake program designed to introduce hockey to girls and boys aged 3 to 11. It runs from October through February with hour-long sessions on Sunday afternoons at DiLungo Rink. The tuition for the 20-week program is $400. It is free for girls aged 8 and under. Girls aged 9 to 11 who are new to the Sharks organization receive a 50-percent discount. Space is limited for both programs. For more information, visit www.shorelinesharkshockey.com.

The Shoreline Sharks are a non-profit organization dedicated to offering developmental and competitive hockey programs for girls aged 3 to 19. It is the largest girls’ hockey program in southern Connecticut. The organization is committed to building a passion for hockey in a fun, challenging environment that builds confidence and passion for the sport of hockey.

More than 150 girls are registered to participate in the 2016 season, with girls coming from Stratford to Cheshire to New London and the towns in between. The organization fields eight travel teams ranging from U-8 to U-19 with varying levels of competitiveness. The Sharks are affiliated with the Connecticut Girls’ Hockey League and the Connecticut Hockey Conference.
