Branford Senior Babe Ruth Captures Second Pat Mirto Title in Three Years

The Branford Senior Babe Ruth baseball team recently completed an outstanding summer season by compiling a 17-2 record and then sweeping its playoff tournament with wins versus North Haven and Durham. The victory in the postseason tourney resulted in Branford’s second Pat Mirto championship in the past three seasons. The members of Branford’s team were Tanner Giddings, Mike Gogliettino, Isaiah Rodriguez, Joe Reilly, Geoff Yasavac, Zach Withington, Mark Pellegrino, Charlie Ahern, Dom Acquarulo, Dan Driscoll, Jake McPartland, Luke Spivey, Logan Distasio, Luke Distasio, Greg Bradshaw, and Glenn Iacovetti. The squad was coached by Wayne Mingle, Mark Distasio, and Brian Maturo and was cheered on well-known Branford sports fan Henry Bromley.
