Guilford-Madison U-14 Soccer Takes Clinton Tourney

G-M United, a soccer team comprised of Guilford and Madison players that was organized by The Soccer Club of Guilford, was recently crowned the U-14 champion of 2016 Clinton Invitational Tournament. The team played five games en route to making the finals. Both championship contests went into sudden victory overtime and ended in exhilarating fashion on penalty kicks.

The athletes who led the team to the title were are Helen Constable, Zoe Rae Edgecumbe, Sophia Ruser, Jesly Diaz, Megan Kelly, Sadie Davidson, Julia Rubbo, Alexa Betts, Tai Sanders, Alyssa Rice, Maya Rumanoff, Kiera Stankewich, Olivia Oehrle, and Molly Kerrigan. The club was coached by Justin Rice and Darin Meder.
