East Haven girls’ soccer standout Megan Kikosicki made it official on Feb. 3, when she signed her National Letter of Intent to play women’s soccer at the University of New Hampshire, a Division I program that competes in the America East Conference.

Kikosicki led the Yellowjackets to their first outright Oronoque Division title last fall, scoring 32 of her team’s 40 goals and assisting on seven others. East Haven posted its first winning record in program history in 2015, shattering the previous mark of seven victories in a season by going 12-5-2, while qualifying for the SCC Tournament for the first time and then beating Bristol Eastern for its first State Tournament win.

Kikosicki, who’s also one of the top athletes in East Haven’s track program, finished her high school soccer career with a school record 70 goals, crushing the old record of 46. Her 32 goals as a senior is also a record for a single season. Kikosicki is the first person in the history of Yellowjackets’ athletics to make All-State three-straight years in a team sport.

Among Kikosicki’s other accolades from the 2015 fall season were her being named the SCC Player of the Year, the New Haven Register All-Area MVP in her second year on the All-Area Team, and the Greater New Haven Soccer Officials Association Player of the Year.

New Hampshire went 6-9-4 last fall under second-year coach Steve Welham after winning the America East and advancing to the NCAA Tournament in 2014.
