Haddam-Killingworth’s Alex Segaline threw three touchdown passes and ran an interception back for another TD in the Cougars’ 44-18 win over Lewis Mills on Oct. 8 at home to improve the Cougars to 2-3.

Lewis Mills (1-3) put a scare into HK early on a 57-yard touchdown pass for the game’s first score, but the Cougars cruised offensively after that. Trevor Mann caught an 80-yard touchdown pass from Segaline in the first quarter and Christos Lavelle’s 2-point conversion run put the Cougars ahead 8-6 for a lead they would never relinquish. In addition to Segaline, the Cougars’ Noah Vinci had an outstanding game by scoring three touchdowns, while Nate DeRita caught another TD pass.

“We started off a little sluggish, but the boys picked it up halfway through the first quarter,” said HK Head Coach Mike Baklik. “Once they got their footing, they played with confidence and never looked back.”

The Cougars’ play again at home on Friday, Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m. against Stafford-East Windsor-Somers (1-3).
