Girls' Soccer

The Yellowjackets continued their strong start to the season by recording a 2-1 victory at Law on Sept. 30 that improved their record to 7-0 and put them into the State Tournament for the second-straight year. This marks just the second time in program history that East Haven has made states in consecutive seasons. The other time was in 2008 and 2009. East Haven's seven wins also ties the program record for most victories in a season, which the team previously achieved last fall.

Law scored with 10 minutes left in the first half, but then East Haven responded with two goals in the first six minutes of the latter stanza. First, Megan Kikosicki scored her 17th goal of the season from Chiara Fusco eight minutes in. Then Megan Lendroth headed home the go-ahead goal off a corner from Kikosicki to put East Haven in the lead for good and the Yellowjackets hung on to win the game.

"We're more than thrilled to be where we are at this point of the season, but we have some very tough games ahead of us and we know teams that we beat the first time around will be ready," Coach Ray Curren said. "We just want to keep getting better every day and game."
