The Cheshire Academy is proud to announce the appointment of Madison’s Jeffrey Allen as the new head coach for varsity girls’ basketball. Allen brings a wealth of basketball knowledge to the Academy, having played college basketball at St. John’s University, where he was a captain, as well as professionally in the International Basketball Federation, FIBA, for over 10 years.

Most recently, Allen worked with Probasket Consulting, an agency representing professional basketball players, and he also managed the recruiting, placement, and contract negotiations with European teams. Allen currently resides in Madison and two of his three children plan to attend Cheshire Academy as 9th and 11th graders next year.

“Being able to add another stellar coach to our upcoming winter season is a huge success for Cheshire Academy,” said Athletic Director Brett Torrey. “Jeff brings decades of professional basketball experience to share with our student-athletes and has a world of knowledge and connections both locally and globally regarding recruiting student-athletes and also placing them in great collegiate programs after leaving the Academy.”

Allen is already spending time on campus, meeting with the team and parents, as well as in admissions, recruiting for the winter season of the 2015-’16 academic year.
