08/29/2015 12:00 AMThe Hand cheerleading team attended Westfield State University Solid Ground Stunt Camp again this past summer. The Tigers had another successful camp as they came home with four UCA All-Americans in captain Alyssa Friend, Heather Whelahan, Max Honorof, and Sierra Tucker.
Along with its All-Americans, the team won the Top Banana Award the second night there. This award is voted on by the UCA staff and goes to the team that represents a true cheer squad that’s spirited all day, eager to learn, hard-working, and helpful to others.
“It shows our sportsmanship is still top notch. Our team came home with another great halftime routine, some elite stunts, and a few band dances,” said Head Coach Licia Ciotti. “Most importantly, this team is ready to start another successful season.”
