06/21/2015 12:00 AMThe Shoreline Senior Legion baseball team took a pair of defeats in its season-opening doubleheader at Berlin on June 16. The squad dropped a 2-1 decision in the opener and a 1-0 contest in the nightcap.
In the first game, Jake Faulkingham of Old Saybrook pitched a solid game by allowing four hits in six innings. Ethan Petroka doubled and scored on Adam Seegert’s single to account for Shoreline’s run.
Westbrook’s Dylan Engels then took the mound for the second game and also threw well by giving up just three hits through his six innings.
