Local Gymnasts Perform at Nationals


The Connecticut High School Coaches Association Gymnastics Committee recently selected several senior gymnasts to represent the state at the National High School Gymnastics Association Senior Showcase. This championship meet featured outstanding senior gymnasts from around the country and was held at the Estero Community Center in Estero, Florida on May 15 and 16.

The Connecticut team placed third with a point total of 141.825, finishing only behind New Jersey (147.175) and Massachusetts (146.65).

At the meet, Connor posted a score of 8.7 on vault, an 8.15 for the beam, and an 8.775 on the floor. She finished with an all-around total of 25.625.

There were also two gymnasts who qualified for the meet, but were unable to attend in (Lexi Rothstein and Sarah Leahy of Southington, plus Mary Incera of Woodstock Academy.
