Rook, Lundberg State Runners-Up for Wrestling in Class M

The Guilford wrestling squad competed in the Class M State Championship on Feb. 20 and 21 at Law and finished 11th place with 108 points-highlighted by Colin Rook and Jake Lundeberg both coming in second for their respective draws.

Rook fought to second in the 126 bracket as he lost by a 7-5 decision for the final against Alejandro Paulino of New London in a valiant effort. Meanwhile at 160, Lundberg took a 10-2 major decision defeat to New Fairfield's Andrew D'Amico.

Also for Guilford, Andrew Tischer came in third for 152 by knocking off Spencer Sgandurra from Waterford by pin fall at 1:27 of the third-place contest. McKayd LaRose grappled his way to fourth at 132 as he lost to Timothy Rebenstisch of Law by a close 9-7 final for his third-place bout.
