MRSC 14-U Tennis Places 10th at Nationals

After capturing the New England Sectional Championship title, the Madison Racquet and Swim Club's 14-U intermediate tennis team of the Mad Rackets traveled to Columbia, South Carolina, to compete in the USTA National Junior Team Tennis Championship. The Mad Rackets defeated Hawaii Pacific (Lahaina, Hawaii) and lost to Eastern (Maywood, New Jersey) and Southern California (Coronado, California) in the first flight. In the playoffs, they beat Northern California (San Francisco) and then lost to Mid-Atlantic (Alexandria, Virginia) to place 10th out of the 17 sections.

"It was a terrific experience for our players and we were competitive in all our matches," said Coach Rick Fay. "The kids worked really hard to get to this level."
