Madison Youth Soccer Club Holds Donation Drive

On Nov. 15, the Madison Youth Soccer Club wrapped up its fall season with a soccer ball donation drive. The club collected 175 new and used soccer balls for Kick for Nick, an organization created in the memory of Nick Madaras, a soccer player turned soldier from Wilton who passed away after getting hit by a roadside bomb.

While stationed in Iraq, Nick saw kids kicking tin cans and balls of rags and asked family and friends to send him soccer balls to donate to kids in that country. Following Nick's death, his family carried on his dream, working with U.S. troops stationed overseas to deliver more than 41,000 soccer balls to kids in need.
