07/30/2014 12:00 AMThe Madison 16-U baseball team swept a doubleheader against the Dom Aitro Rookies on July 18 by 10-5 and 5-4 finals.
"During the games, we laid down perfected suicide squeezes, which held responsible for our double wins," said Head Coach Pat Talbot. "Matt Samson and Kyle Kuhn laid it down, not to mention Aaron Rubin and Evan Lohn tossing complete games. We battled hard."
The victories brought the Tigers' overall mark to 9-9-1 prior to splitting another twin bill against the CT Tides the following day as both final scores were 8-7. In the 16-U Local Wood Bat Division of the AAU East Shore Travel League, Madison is now 7-6-1, sitting in seventh and 5.5 games behind the first-place CT Nationals.
