HK Golf Competes at States; Pfrommer 4th in Open Long Jump

On June 9, Haddam-Killingworth traveled to Tallwood Country Club in Hebron for the Division III State Championship and finished 20th by shooting a collective 387.

Competing for the Cougars in their 18-hole, par-72 rounds were John Abbott (77), Alex Segaline (95), Mike Szafran (99), Torren Callendar (116), and Joe Parmelee (132). After three straight bogeys to open, Abbott responded with a birdie on a par-5 fourth hole before another birdie on 16. Segaline birdied on the second hole (a par 4), while Szafran was one-under for the sixth hole.

Girls' Outdoor Track

HK scored five points to place 47th at the State Open on June 9 at Middletown. Scoring for the Cougars was Leah Pfrommer in the long jump (4th, 17-2 1/ 2). Pfrommer was also 11th for the triple jump (34-0). Also representing HK was Maddie Brandon during the 1,600 (16th, 5:20.08).

Boys' Outdoor Track

The Cougars earned a point to come in 63rd at the State Open on June 9 in Middletown. Ethan Kovach was eighth for the 400, running in a time of 51.72. Also competing for HK was Canute Watson in the 100 (15th, 11.43) and 200 (17th, 23.47) and Pat Fitzgibbons for the 3,200 (24th, 10:04.44).
