Golf Finishes Ninth at D-II State Tournament


Aiden Kellaher shot a 77 at the Division II State Championship on June 11 at Fairview Farms in Harwinton for Guilford golf, which finished ninth as a team.

On June 11 at the Division II State Championship at Fairview Farms in Harwinton, Guilford golf finished ninth with a 328, just 22 strokes off the co-state champions of New Canaan and Notre Dame-West Haven (306).

The Indians, on the par-72 course, were led by Aiden Kellaher (77), Jamie Webb (79), Ethan Bedell (82), Ben Fazzina (90), and Jeff Tucker (109).

Kellaher birdied on the third, sixth, 11th, and 14th holes, while Webb was one-under on hole No. 9. Elsewhere, Bedell finished his round on a high note by earning birdie on the 18th green; Fazzina shot one on the sixth hole; plus Tucker was at par for the fifth and seventh holes.

Also in the girls' State Championship on June 10, Sienna Fucci shot an 84 on the par-74 course at Orange Hills Country Club to earn All-State Team honors, finishing tied for the eighth best individual round on the day. She birdied on the 16th hole and pared on holes No. 3-5, 8, and 11-14.
