Madison's Bertolini Named to All-NESCAC Team

Connecticut College junior attackman Derek Bertolini of Madison has been honored on the All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's lacrosse Second Team.

Bertolini capped off an impressive season for the Camels with 21 goals while ranking fourth in the NESCAC with 44 assists to lead the club with 65 points. He is tied for 10th in the nation with 2.75 assists per contest.

Bertolini set the single-season school assist record previously held by Connecticut College Athletic Hall of Famer Damien DePeter '95, who dished out 43 helpers in 1994.

"Derek has been a great addition to our program," Connecticut College men's lacrosse Coach Dave Cornell said. "He has a great work ethic in practice. We are really looking forward to seeing what he can do after he's been here for a full year."

In a 13-10 victory against Hamilton April 12, Bertolini dished out a team-best seven assists to go with one goal and four ground balls for the Camels. Bertolini scored two goals while assisting on three others in an 11-8 NESCAC triumph at Bates College April 19.
