The Tigers tied Cheshire at 160 on April 22 before a tri-match sweep of Morgan and Portland the following day. Hand then closed the week with a tight 158-159 victory over Fairfield Prep on April 24 to bring its record to 4-1-1.

Facing Morgan and Portland, Carlson shot an even-par 36 and earned medalist honors again while the other three Tigers in Tommy Pellatt, Freund, and Crampton each shot 42.

Hand began its campaign on April 23 with a 185-229 win over Norwich Free Academy. The Tigers' Gabby Martin and Caroline Gabriele were co-match medalists with a 43 each. Also shooting for Hand were Kelsey Anderson (47), Erin Schroeder (52), and Katie McKeon (54).

The Tigers are led by senior tri-captains of Gabriele, Anderson, and Nugent while they also welcome juniors McKeon, Morgan Werth, and Grace Kraus; sophomores Emily Schroeder, Erin Schroeder, and Emily Kuck; plus freshmen Martin and Emma Boey.

"This was our first match of the season-very challenging conditions and the greens were just aerated. Martin comes to the team with a wealth of tournament experience [on the Connecticut PGA Junior Tour and the U.S. Challenge Cup Tour]," said Head Coach Jon Wilson, who is in his fifth season at the helm. "Her score of 43 was a good sign that she is ready to be a major contributor to our program. Gabriele (43) and Anderson (47) looked very solid and will be wonderful leaders this season, along with Nugent. Our key rivals this season will be Avon, Cheshire, Sacred Heart, and Mercy. We have lofty goals to finish in the top half of our season-ending Southern Connecticut League Tournament and to qualify as a team for the State Championship."
