Hand Cheer Has Proud Day at SCC Championship

On Feb.1, the Hand cheerleading squad competed in the SCC Championship at Shelton in the All-Girl Division and won first runner-up against 14 other teams. This is the second time the Tigers placed in the SCC, with the first time being in 2012.

Also, Hand was only one of two teams out of 20 that had three members named to its All-SCC team. They are (pictured) captain Tiffany Kaufmann, Madison McNeilly, and captain Taylor Ardito.

Finally, for the first time ever, the SCC awarded a Cheerleader of the Year Award to a senior that displayed the highest level of competition cheer skill, as well as leadership, academic, and community service. That honor went to Kaufmann.

The team is coached by Michelle Kaufmann and Licia Ciotti. The team members are captain Taylor Ardito, Tiffany Kaufmann, Grace Powell, Sydney Sutcliffe, Madison Katz, Madison McNeilly, Courtney Katz, Aly Friend, Heather Whelahan, Amanda Jepson, Mikayla Cruz, Meg Lavin, Cassie Braren, Morgan Werth, and Leigh Williams.
