11/19/2013 11:00 PMThe Madison Tigers' cheerleaders are at it again and back to their winning ways. Madison sent two teams (Division 12 and Division 13) to the Connecticut state competition at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain on Nov. 3, and both teams walked out with trophies.
The 22 cheerleaders in Division 12 (pictured) broke away from the pack, finishing in first place in their division, and firmly securing a spot in the regional competition, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23 at the XL Center in Hartford. Meanwhile, the 16 cheerleaders from Division 13 jumped into second place in their division, meaning they will also be competing at regionals in Hartford.
Both teams are looking to secure a slot at the American Youth Cheer National competition in Orlando, Florida in December, where this past year, the Division 12 team finished third, and the Division 13 team was first in their respective divisions. Madison Youth Cheer has only been involved in competitive cheer since 2011 and has sent two teams to nationals each year.
