Lerman Takes 3rd in All-Around at States, Regionals


Branford Hornets student Cynthia Lerman has followed up her latest stellar high school season by notching some notable achievements as a Level 8 gymnast in the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic program. At the Connecticut State Championship, she placed third in the all-around with a score of 35.40 to earn a spot on the 2013 Senior Regional Team. Lerman scored a 9.35 to finish second on vault, was fourth on uneven bars with an 8.65, took eighth on balance beam with an 8.90, and was 12th on the floor exercise by scoring 8.50. Lerman was also third in the all-around at the Level 8 Regional Championship by taking fourth on vault (9.25) and bars (8.87), fifth on beam (9.07), and seventh on floor (9.07).

Lerman was a captain for the Hornets last winter and won the vault at the SCC Championship to gain All-SCC honors and win the Outstanding Performance Award. She took fifth in the all-around at SCCs.
