Four Tigers' Cheerleaders Earn All-American Honors

On July 28, six cheerleaders from Hand's varsity cheerleading squad were nominated to compete for the Universal Cheerleading Association's All-American Cheer squad during the team's camp at Connecticut Gymnastic and Cheer Academy in Fairfield. For the first time ever, four cheerleaders made the team. Universal Cheerleading Association is the largest worldwide cheer training, competition, and dance organization in the world. The cheerleaders were asked to show their skills in dance, cheer, motions, and jumps. The winners that are pictured were also asked to represent the U.S. and march in the New Year's Day parade in London, England. They are first-year winners in senior Avery Butler and juniors Madi McNeilly and Leigh Williams, along with senior captain and third-year winner Tiffany Kaufmann. Kaufmann was also nominated to try out for the Universal Cheerleading Association cheerleading staff that teaches high school camps around the nation during the summer of 2014.
