Pugliese and Siegert Represent OS Gymnastics in a Big Way

For much of the season, the Haddam-Killingworth/Old Saybrook/Hale-Ray co-op gymnastics team has faced some tough competition, but continues to post team scores of around 120 points, scores that Coach Carl Cavrell said "puts the team in a very good position to do well in states."

Two of those gymnasts who represent Old Saybrook are sophomore Olivia Pugliese and freshman Katie Siegert. They both competed on Feb. 14 at Shoreline Gymnastics in their last regular season meet of the season before states and helped their team to an 89.15-one of the team's lowest scores, but due to two athletes unable to compete in this meet versus Valley Regional and top-seeded Daniel Hand.

In this meet, Pugliese scored a 7.6 on vault, a 7.5 on bars, a 5.8 on beam, and a 7.3 on floor for an all-around score of 28.2, while Siegert scored an 8.4 on vault, a 7.5 on bars, and an 8.8 on beam for an all-around of 24.7.
