Cynthia Lerman Takes the Floor as Branford Hornets' Gymnastics Beats Hamden


The Branford gymnastics squad had a tri-meet against North Haven and Hamden last week, scoring 90.75 points to lose to the Indians (113.45), but beat the Green Dragons (87.9) and stand at 4-5.

Cynthia Lerman was second in the all-around by virtue of her victory on the floor routine, as well as taking second on beam, second on bars, and third on the vault. Jenn Lassman finished fourth in the all-around was she finished third on bars, fourth on beam, and fifth on the floor. Additionally, Aaryne Antell placed third on floor and fifth on vault; Jessica Beler came in fourth on bars, sixth on vault, and sixth on floor; and Marai Hasimoto finished sixth on bars for Brian LeRoux's squad.

"Beam seems to be the event we need more work, but otherwise, we are doing a fine job," Said LeRoux. "The surprise on the team is Jessica Beler, who is showing so much enthusiasm. She is continuing to fine-tune her routines and be a role model."
