He travels throughout Texas in search of his love, an Irish immigrant who works for a Union family. They’re poor and homeless, but manage to make their way by winning people over with their music. Simon is shrewd and innovative, determined, and a survivor. This is a light, informative read of survival and success, even though they encounter many obstacles.
