Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki

An absolute delight from beginning to end, this novel doesn’t shy away from tough topics, but takes time to infuse the story with light and laughter in between, making this book incredibly special. This is a found-family story with an Asian transgirl at the center, wrapped in a love of music and donuts. I fell in love with every character and adored following their journeys. This is one I’ll be thinking about, and recommending, for a while.
